Blossomland Amateur Radio Association

Due to circumstances beyond out control, BARA Club meetings will no longer be held at the Stevensville United Methodist Church. However, because of the generosity of Wightman & Associates, Inc., we have a new meeting place at 2303 Pipestone Road, Benton Harbor. Location is near I-94 exit 29, south on Pipestone Road about 1/4 mile on the left. Park in the south parking lot and go to the door with the red awning. Someone will be there to let you in. If you come late please call on 146.460 simplex and someone will come to let you in. Look for the BARA sign at the entrance to the south parking lot.

The Ham License Test Schedule for 2016 is now available on the Local Ham Testing page.

Michigan QSO Party April 16 from Noon until Midnight. We are asking that all those who wish would support BARA in the Michigan Club competition. You can do this by specifiying the Blossomland Amateur Radio Association as your club affiliation when you submit your log file to the MQP.
Also this year, Ken N8OL, will run a Multi OP-Multi Station
(10 transceivers!) operation at his home at 1349 Maple Lane, Benton Harbor (near Riverside). Anyone who wishes to come out to Ken's QTH and operate or hang out are welcome. Ken is especially looking for CW operators to come out and help with the effort. The logs from this operation will of course be entered in the MQP Club Competition for BARA. Please set aside April 16 to help Ken and BARA make a major contribution to the Michigan QSO Party this year.

Status of 146.220/146.820 Repeater System: New duplexer is installed as well a new Kenwood TKR-750K2 repeater. Apparently we still have either a grounding, feedline, or antenna problem as the noise on the system persists. Work will continue on solving this problem as weather permits.

The APRS station is back on the air.
