With sadness we note the passing of Patrick McPherson, WW9E, on May 14. Pat was a BARA member for about 10 years. He was founder of the Salvation Army Team Emergency Radio Network (SATERN) and was well known throughout the Amateur Radio community. Pat was a great guy and a pleasure to communicate with on Ham Radio. We will miss hearing his call on the air: "Whiskey Whiskey Nine Echo". Rest in Peace, Pat.

The next BARA Club Meeting is on June 16, 7:30 pm at the new location (see below). The discussion will be on the next big event, Field Day 2016 (FD). Planning for set-up will present some new challenges. The location for FD will be the same as last year, but the challenge will be antenna locations. The grassy fields around the parking area are planted with crops this year so we won't have as much room for antennas. Please come to the meeting to help us plan, and plan to participate with your presence on the weekend of June 25-26. This leads to the next announcement:

The Monthly Ham Breakfast in June will be at Hoppers in Berrien Springs at 8:30 am. Breakfast at Hoppers on FD morning has become a BARA Tradition. Hope to see you there and at FD. Hoppers is located on Old US31 south of Berrien Springs on the left just past the dam.

Status of 146.220/146.820 Repeater System: The issue of noise on incoming signals has for the most part been resolved. Signals that are weak into the system may still experience some difficulty but the problem has been nearly eliminated.
Please use the repeater often. Announce you are monitoring when mobile. Keep your rig on at home to monitor the repeater. Much time, effort and money has been spent to keep the system up and running and to maintain the repeater site. Please use it!
Thanks and 73,
